If you read the “ABOF” Bio on the Home page, you will already know my name is Nelista Lord-Morgan (aka “Lady Nel”). I used to humorously describe myself as an “Afro-Caribbean-British-American Geriatric Diva” in my taglines. Although “diva” is generally regarded as a fun playful word, BUT it has taken on a more negative connotation in recent years (i.e. demanding, self-centered, entitled, overly dramatic, hard to work with, etc.) - and I definitely did not want to be associated with any of those words. Needless to say, I removed it from my tagline, “geriatric” too ☺. Anyway, less of the trivia… I was born in the Caribbean, grew up in England, moved to America in January 1991 (over 35 years ago). So I have actually been living in the US for most of my life. I believe this diverse cultural makeup has been instrumental in shaping my diverse thinking, my diverse experiences, my diverse beliefs, my diverse business model, and my ability to see things from all angles without bias or prejudice. My professional background ranges from legal secretary to Quality Performance Supervisor in the healthcare industry, complemented by a variety of other online & offline ventures. I can honestly say I love everyone and want the best for everyone, but I keep my inner circle very small. Through life’s many ups-and-downs, I have never lost my child-like sense of humor, for which I am truly grateful. It has not only helped minimize my stress levels, it has also helped me keep things in perspective when the going gets tough (excluding death and sickness, of course). I enjoy being around genuine people who have gratitude in their heart, who perform deeds & gestures with no ulterior motives, and who generally have a positive outlook on life. However, I do realize that “positivity” is simply a regulator of emotions and merely contributing factor to the final outcome. Without a firm grasp of reality and an ability to take appropriate action when action is needed, problems simply don’t get solved. I guess what I am trying to say, is that life is too short to spend endless hours or days worrying, being angry, or feeling stressed, especially when those emotions stem from situations beyond our control. Easier said than done, right☺? But with a conqueror’s mindset and an ability to put things in perspective when viewing them as a microscopic spec in that humongous jigsaw puzzle called life, you will quickly realize just how superficial that “problem” really is in the big scheme of things.

Lastly, I want to make it clear that whenever I use the word “us” I am not simply referring to ABOF, I am referring to you, me, and all the ageless beauties who contribute to our Beauty Forum.
